Tax Appeals Lake County recommends a property review be completed every tax year in Lake, Mchenry and Dupage counties where your property assessment could change yearly. The rapidly changing real estate markets could cause assessment fluctuations. Additional market factors could cause your property to be over assessed. Examples of some of the reasons to have your property assessment reviewed:

  • Sales of similar homes in your area.

When we receive your assessment review request our tax appeal team will begin with the details of your property to uncover any errors in your property’s description. When the township assessor releases the new assessment numbers for the upcoming tax year, our review continues.  Depending on the township the information is released sometime during the months of May through August. Our analysis of all available data and our expertise of the assessment process will help us determine if a tax appeal is warranted.

Once we complete your assessment review you will be notified of the outcome.  If a tax appeal is warranted we will file your case with the Board of Review.
